VALHAL is an immersive and atmospheric game full of stories that immerse players in the daily life, but also the mythological world of the Vikings around the 8th century. Each player takes on the role of a Viking Jarl and thus control of their own settlement, where it is necessary to construct new buildings, build ships and train troops to go raiding in the coming summer. The innovative building mechanics are based on coins and building tokens, which in combination with the food mechanics and the required building time provide a realistic gameplay. The combat system is familiar to the player and is based on basic values and dice rolls.

A game of VALHAL is accompanied by 145 story cards, which are played at different times of the game and provide the atmospheric background. For example, each season (game round) begins with an event that applies to all players at the table and often requires decisions or otherwise provides interaction between players. The multitude of cards and their possible combinations also ensure a high replay value, as each game tells its own little stories.

The game materials are of high quality throughout and include custom dice (multi-colored, engraved, 14mm) and plastic coins (with wash), 2mm thick game boards and die-cuts, and 320gsm premium playing cards.
