When America entered World War II in late December 1941, the soldiers were for the most part superbly equipped and supplied. In 1944, when American troops advanced on the European mainland, they were, like most armies of that time, hardly prepared for the bitter winter in Europe. In general, they lacked coats and woolen gloves to protect themselves from the biting cold and to be well camouflaged at the same time. The practical-minded Americans modified their winter uniforms by quickly providing their soldiers with additional clothing. Well improvised snowsuits were often made directly from scavenged bedding from the liberated/conquered cities.
The figures and kits are supplied unpainted. They are mainly made of metal.
