After absorbing the spark of the original Megatron, this Megatron, already possessing a transmetallic body, was thrown into a lava pit, giving him a larger, stronger dragon form.
The talented sculptors and painters at Prime 1 Studio, whose strengths lie in the realistic depiction of machines and the rendering of a variety of materials, really get their money's worth when working on a figure like a Transformer. Megatron's dragon form is the perfect example.
