Kales Pegonites is the man everyone is after. He has disappeared and several people are looking for him for different reasons. But finding him is only part of the problem - Kales is involved in a mystery as old as the city itself. This scenario is intended to introduce some peculiarities of Mythical Constantinople, especially the shabbier side of life. It is also suitable for characters who have just arrived in the city, as well as for those who have been living here for some time. It is all about something - explorations, social interaction, creeping around, fighting - to show that survival in the City of Wonders requires more than a strong arm and a sharp blade. The adventure can be adapted with little effort to any big city; the only requirement is a foreign commercial slave, located on the other side of a river or on an island. Welcome to a Byzantium never seen before and set out in search of Kales Pegonites! Why is he wanted by so many people? What do you plan to do with him when you find him? Is there anything left of him? Answers to these questions can be found in the labyrinthine streets of the 'Queen of the Cities'. The adventure was written for Mythic Constantinople, but the source band is not mandatory. However, it does reveal relationships and backgrounds that bring this adventure to life. With a little adaptation, the scenario can also play in Thennla, perhaps in one of the city-states Borissa or Sarestra in the Korantic Empire. And of course, the Greek nature of the city makes this adventure ideal for an intrigue in Meeros.
