Imperial Struggle ist ein Zwei-Personen-Spiel, das die Rivalität zwischen Frankreich und Großbritannien im 18. Jahrhundert aufzeigt. Es beginnt im Jahr 1697, als die beiden Königreiche wachsam darauf warten, dass der König von Spanien einen Erben ernennt und endet im Jahr 1789, als eine neue Ordnung zum Fall der Bastille führt. Das Spiel dreht sich nicht nur um den Krieg: Sowohl Frankreich als auch Großbritannien müssen die Grundlagen des kolonialen Reichtums schaffen, mit den anderen Nationen Europas verhandeln und in allen Bereichen des menschlichen Strebens um Ruhm kämpfen.
