Game topic
Findorff is one of the 23 districts of Bremen, the hometown of Friedemann Friese. It not only has three "F "s, it was also named after Jürgen Christian Findorff (1720-1792), who was responsible for the draining and surveying of the moor in the north of Bremen and who promoted the extraction of the peat and the settlement of the moor. In the Findorff game, you develop the Findorff district in the years from 1803 to 1916. Historically, six important train stations stood in Findorff during this era, with tracks going to Hanover, Hamburg, Oldenburg and Bremerhaven. Even though three of them have been replaced by the large main station, you build the other three stations on one of the two main tracks. In addition to the barges on the peat canal, this small railroad could transport even more peat from the peat bogs north of Bremen to Findorff. At the beginning of the 19th century, peat was Findorff's most important commodity for heating homes and generating energy for industry. In the late 19th century (and during the game), peat lost importance as it was replaced by coal, which was richer in Energy.

Findorff offers you an economic "engine builder" with a commodity market for peat known from Funkenschlag and an innovative commodity management for track and house construction. Your focus, however, is on which of the 25 historical buildings from the period 1803 to 1916 you build. Do you build the chair cane factory or the slaughterhouse to earn a lot of money, or do you prefer smaller buildings like schools, the beer hall or the peat barge inn to reach victory in smaller steps. You can even profit from the high mortality of this era as a graveyard operator. Only by adapting your strategy most skillfully to your buildings will you do honor to Mr. Findorff and carry victory home when the railroad to Hamburg is completed.
