Scheme cards are useful for almost any quest the players choose. Each quest tells the players how many cards they can draw at certain times in the game. Some schemes are common to all factions, while others are limited to a specific faction.
The cards are a way to seriously spice up the gameplay. Each quest already has certain conditions that the players have to fulfill to gain so-called Victory Points – the merit of the victor!
Schemes add additional conditions that the players can fulfill during the game and gain Victory Points in this way.
In most cases, the opposing player does not know which schemes you are brewing and will only get a hold of this knowledge at the end of the game. At this point, the players look at how many of their schemes they successfully carried out and reveal the outcome to the opposing player(s). Even if the battle seemed to go a certain way, the schemes can alter the outcome! The Victory Points are counted at the end of the game and the winner of the game is named.
The cards can be played not only in PvP or PvE mode but in Co-op as well! This way, players can ally and win more Victory Points throughout the game, gaining more resources to buy upgrades!
The Scheme Cards expansion add-on does not contain the same cards that already come included in the Challenger's, Adventurer's, and Warlord's Pledge.
They are different. The Add-on Scheme Cards are extra, new cards that do not come included in any of the pledges. They are meant to add extra content and variety to your party creation and missions.
They will enrich the gameplay and broaden the possibilities. The players can use them to set secret schemes in motion; fulfilling a scheme gives the player extra Victory Points that can ensure the player emerges the victor!
Note: this pack does not include the Scheme cards that are auto-included in the Challenger's, Adventurer's, and Warlord's Pledges.
