In The Elder Sign, 1-8 players take on the roles of investigators in a desperate battle against the Great Old Ones - immensely powerful creatures from a dimension beyond space and time. With the help of special dice, the players have to embark on adventures in and around the museum, where strange creatures flock together. However, the courage and skill of the investigators will not go unrewarded, with the most precious reward being the mysterious Elder Sign, the insignia that can be used to banish the Great Old One and win the game. But it is a race against time, because every night - at midnight - the Great Old One stirs in his slumber and his awakening in our world draws inexorably closer. If the investigators take too long, the fate of mankind will be sealed.
